2.4GHz antenna length

2.4GHz antenna length

Purchased an additional Associated XP TRS401 receiver from ebay, antenna is cut to about half original length. Is that a no-no with these like the older 75MHz stuff?

It should be fine, but I would definitely do a range test before you drive it too far.

Let me ask this, seller claims it came that way from a sealed in box SC18. I say he cut it, you can see the marks from side cutters and the end isn't stripped back like the other two I purchased from two others sellers. Anyone here own a SC18 with the XP TRS401? Is the length 6-1/2" or 12".

I don't own that particular model, but the 3 2.4GHz receivers i have all have about a 5-8 inch long antenna. Came that way straight from the box. But like suggested, do a range test, or have a very trusted Fail Safe if its a nitro.
