Mystery parts quiz....

Post by minichamps11 »

Just need to know what cars these parts are from..... sorry, no prizes though :)

To help, these came in a big pile of Mardave, Associated RC10GT, Losi JRX2, RC10 gold tub, Yokomo '91 and Schumacher CAT stuff.

The loss of the General forum is a real pain-in-the-a** for things like this. Where should I post this if I don't know the manufacturers??!!! Anyway, the fun bit:

1) Screws have Philips heads
Image
2) What shocks?
Image
3) What shock towers?
Image
4) Looks like shock pistons? The round heads have slightly squared off sides
Image
5) Wishbone pivot pin set with distinctive gold colour - not metric.
Image
6a) What wishbones?
Image
6b) Different view of above
Image
7a) I'm not into Nitro at all. Is it even possible to identify a muffler from pictures??!!
Image
7b) Different view
Image
8a) Yokomo spur?
Image
8b) Same spur - other side
Image
9) Rear bumper / motor guard - black one side, polished alloy the other
Image
10a) Pivot blocks for something?
Image
10b) Different view of above
Image
11) Nitro clutch parts? Not RC10GT - Got one in the same lot & identified it from the downloadable Associated manuals
Image
12a)
Image
12b) Other side of above
Image
13) Nitro car shock tower?
Image
14) Mardave steering arms? Small bronze insert on both.
Image
15)
Image
16)
Image
17) 4 parts here - Asso spur? Traxxas driveshafts? The 2 identical parts on the top right have "KYOSHO" moulded on the centre sprue

#2: Look like early Losi shocks, short fronts for the JR-X2 perhaps.

#10: Left/square one: JR-X2 5 link rear pivot block. The other is #2 from a set of 4 for the H arm JRX Pros

#15 Second row are impellers for Losi Hydra Drive. Third row outdrive gear and joint for Losi LRM JR-X2 tranny. Bottom is diff gear for same, not sure if it’s bearing version or not.

16 - The blue thing is a motor heat sink, not sure what the red disk is, though it looks like either an endbell heat sink or spacer plate.

1, Motor mount spacers, come with NIB OS engines
5, are they magnetic? I have a set of tecnacraft ti pins that are that color.
7, MIP stinger exhaust header and pipe.
14, look to be losi steering bellcranks, but I've not seen black ones with brass inserts before
15, lower 3 parts are diff gear, output gear and output yokes for original losi "LRM" transmission
17, white driveshaft appears to be a losi "super slider" shaft.

No detective work here, that's just he part of my brain that refuses to store pieces of information like: friends birthdays (thank you facebook!), meetings, appointments, and general things that have happened in the last 2 weeks!

#5 - possibly losi titanium-nitride hinge pins? just seen an ad for genuine team losi lst accessories in rcca (sept 2005) and it shows these and they are gold colored. i've never owned any losi so i really wouldn't know for sure.

#17 yes that's an associated 81 tooth spur gear

Any idea about photo 9 of the alloy rear bumper / motor guard? It looks really familiar to me but I can't place it. Associated truck of some kind?

Just checked and they are not magnetic, so could be tecnacraft pins. I know someone else suggested Losi nitrided pins but they are a much brighter gold colour than these (well, at least my modern XXX4 ones are).
