kyosho outrage gear pitch
i got a deal on a kyosho outrage with a bad pinion gear..will any 32pitch gear work??i ask cause the kyosho pinions look different and i know tamiya 48 pitch is not like rc10 48 pitch..are any 32pitch gears like this or is all 32pitch gears the same?? id like to use a tamiya pinion but i dont want to mess up the spur gear if a pinion could be a bit off ..

Re: kyosho outrage gear pitch
Sandmaster, rampage, outrage... I keep mixing those names up, is it an electric or engine model?
32 pitch is right for the electric car, the engine car takes a heavier pitch still I think.

I think technically, kyosho 32 pitch is actually .8 metric module. But, the difference between .8 and 32 pitch is so slight, they are interchangeable.

Re: kyosho outrage gear pitch
its electric... like the one in the pic posted.. but mine is black and not as nice

so im not crazy..i meshed a 32 pitch gear with the kyosho pinion (its only missing 1 tooth)and it did seem a bit different..back in the day i didnt care but now i like all stuff 100%correct on a car like this were you cant get spur gears. anything besides "kyosho"pinions exactally the same??I think technically, kyosho 32 pitch is actually .8 metric module. ah thanks, purpletimbo wrote:To refresh your memory Ed
just lloked upo the sandmaster and that's the engine version using what looks to be the same body set.
lbnj,
I'm sure I have some 32 pitch kyosho gears, but they are mixed in a pack of other '32 pitch' pinions.
Are you sure it didn't mesh well? don' forget you need to give these quite much play compared to 48 pitch.

Re: kyosho outrage gear pitch
mmmm, 2 pinions, with how many teeth each?
Gears with few teeth always mesh with more friction than larger diameter ones.
