That label-less spray can reminded me of the tricks people used to play in the pits for the "hot" motor spray of the month. What a sham... "Oh, what's he using to clean his motor"? Must be some kind of speed secret! It was almost as bad as people dipping motors in 7-Up.

Old Pepsi can logo (before they messed it all up) gold tub RC10 getting ready for a race, and an old school bmx bike. That pic is a winner! Thanks for posting it. Got any more?

Thank, and yes I have a couple more that I'll have to scan. Some details to note:
-The site was the old Ascot RC Raceway, part of the old Asot Park familiar to any So Cal folks maybe?
-That's me @ 14 or 15 and no I haven't a clue what motor spray that was
-The car though is the reason I came to this board. I recently recovered my old RC stuff out of my parents attic a couple years back. I already got my old Tamiya Super Champ restored and now I'm inspired to takle the RC10
-It's an "Earliest Edinger". Thank you guys for putting up this board because it's clued me in that what I have is worth restoring. I've searched through enough old posts to learn a bit, and refresh my memory as well!

Here's the body. It's not all there anymore (I ended up cutting the back end off), but it's the nice thick lexan (do they even make anything that thick anymore?) It wasn't the lightest, but sure held up. The paint job came with the car, so it's one of the "x" bodies, i gather from my research done thus far.
I'm gonna re-detail it up as part of the restoration.

I think since I figured this posting thing out, I'll go ahead and start a thread over on the RC10 buggy board, because maybe I'll be able to contribute to the overall greater good here. Thanks again..

You know, I thhink all the RC10 bodies eventually got the back end chopped off. The thing is they look just as cool that way to me!

Ascot as in RCRC with Cliff behind the counter???? I raced there from '86 to '89-ish. Loved the dirt oval.Y'ernat Al wrote:-The site was the old Ascot RC Raceway, part of the old Asot Park familiar to any So Cal folks maybe?

Sure, in Gardena if I remember right. I long haul from where I was at (southern orange county) but I went out there once. They had a whole complex that included 1:1 racing. This is from like 1985..(the Blazer in the middle was probably pretty state of the art...

oh the miles I put on that track.....it was outside turn 3-4 of the 1:1 track, we used to sweep all the "pellets" of clay off on sunday so we could race on a clear track.
