Re: Astute Thorp Dirt Burner
If memory serves me right (and I have been wrong a lot)....
Thorp used Kimbrough gears...should be us 48 pitch.

Re: Astute Thorp Dirt Burner
Thank you JK, I didn't want to run a 48dp on it if it was 0.6 they're so close in pitch the difference is almost imperceptible (that is until it's all chewed up).

Re: Astute Thorp Dirt Burner
Hey guys. Sorry to bring this back from the dead but what i don't get with these thorp bits is why they're called overdrive or under drive. Every pic I've seen, the counter gear on the back has 16 teeth just like standard. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Astute Thorp Dirt Burner
Not sure about the astute version, but on the ultima/optima version the inner gear and counter gear were distinct for the underdrive/overdrive sets. You couldnt mix/match at will, but one of them worked with stock (as the one above probably does.
