a little update on this car................

awhile back, i found the correct rear 8086 flat stubbies and yellow rims to bring this car closer to worlds specs, except for the milled tub.

well last week, i was FINALLY able to score a new worlds tub. it looks as if the car was built with this chassis, but it was never used. it does have a couple inperfections in it, so it's not perfect. but i'm not complaining. especially for what i paid for it.

i've been hanging on to a bunch of white parts for my fusion speed tub, but i'm kinda thinking about swapping out some of the black parts on this to make it more "boxart correct". i know the last of the worlds kits were all black, so it's not wrong. but, i like seeing the contrast in colors.

nice job scr8p, reminds me of my last graphite project. Although I got a black stealth tranny from mrlexan to replace my white 6 gear, I had spared drilling holes in my chassis. I look forward to seeing the body

oh, ya. that because the stuff doesn't get beat up like it does racing offroad. my graphite team car's a perfect example of that. i raced that car 3,4,5 nights a week for 4 years straight, until i built my raborn. all year long.... indoor and out. the chassis is still in VERY nice shape. except for the base of the kickup being worn down on the right side. the graphite chassis on the car i ran at the v-nats is friggin' hammered...... from one race weekend.

other good things to get from d.o. guys is new tub chassis', noseplates, tires, rims, 1.32 shocks, buggy bodies and wings. a lot of guys would buy a new rc10 kit and an oval chassis at the same time. the cars were purpose built right from the box, so that stuff was never used. when i worked at the lhs back in the day, guys would bring that stuff back to the shop after they were done building their car to put it in the showcase we had to sell used/customer items. that's were the extras from my new graphite team car kit went. some guys just hung on to that stuff, which is why those types of item are still able to be found from them today. it's worked out pretty good for me...... not just on this worlds tub deal.

Kudoz for collecting all those parts and building a Worlds' car from scratch. You still need aluminium screws for the tranny and front rims by the way, oh and that servo saver is still grey, pshaaaww

i have the screws for the trans, but i still need the ones for the shock collars and wheels. i was very tempted to swap out some of the black parts in favor of white to make it more "boxart", but then i wouldn't have the white stuff to build my fusion speed tub. i'd rather save them for that build.

the tie rods on mine are wrong, too. they're dubro 4-40 adjustable turnbuckles. what did the kit come with.... the stock black associated ones?

Being an all black WC it should be the square turnbuckles, and technically it should also probably have the T2 stylee spring retainers. Really not 100% on those details.

i have some of the newer style cups, but i don't have any more of the newer style clamps. i don't think i do anyway. i'd have to look around.
