That is a 1994 Yokomo "New" YZ10 Super Dogfighter. Early 1994: Yokomo YZ10 Super Dog Fighter
For the majority of people that missed out or could not afford the World Championship Special, Yokomo released the YZ10. Quite similar in design to the W.C.S. but a lot of 'special' parts were ommited to save costs and make the YZ10 more user friendly compared to the one-off W.C.S. Like the W.C.S., the YZ10 was a completely different in design to the earlier Works models and this made it very popular in the mid 1990's as it was a very durable car. At one point the majority of racers (pro through to novice) used only this car.
It has quite a few option parts compared to the stock version (AE shocks, T.C.S. system, Carbon Fibre parts, Titanium Turnbuckles and hardware, Lightweight Parts set etc.). A very nice version you have there
Body is the stock 1994 version and not the Pavidis Edition body (they both had a scoop on the left side but the one on the Pavidis version was longer).
I thought it was the 96 (check the first page of the yokomo timeline = the thread where you posted the question without pics)
The reasons I think it's the 96 and not 94 (which I owned at one point) are the graphite towers, graphite top plate, graphite battery hold-downs, asso shocks and the lightened chassis: see the hole under the servo...

Definately a 1994 YZ10. The parts you mentioned (carbon fibre towers, top plate and holdowns, associated shocks are option parts). The 1994 YZ10 did have a section machined out of the chassis near the servo area but the Pavidis Edition had a lot more of the chassis machined out and also featured 4 battery/cell holes on the left hand side of the chassis as opposed to 3 on the 1994 YZ10. Look here for what a box stock 1996 Pavidis Edition looks like -
I totally agree with the Yokomo Timeline being updated with photos. Between all the members here, I think we can put a photo to each description (even the hard ones )
I have a set of the Team Suzuki Hubs in blue but I have also seen them in green, purple, pink and red. Not sure if they were stripped and re-anodised by the owners. I think you are on to something regarding the red anodised Tomy versions.
I think Dual is correct. The car looks just like the 94 yz10, just tricked out with carbon etc. Unless it was a "TEAM" type version direct from Yokomo. I'm just saying this because the gentleman that gave me the car has strong connections in Asia, and he was not the type of person at that time to hunt down option parts for a car. All his cars from that era were mostly box stock. 2008 is a different story! lol
Photos of each car in the time lines would be great.
Hi been reading and looking at a lot of the posts here in the Yokomo forum, seen a lot of nice cars, a lot of new ideas, a lot of good ideas for restoration and have picked up a heap of tricks you guys have learnt and mastered over the years...

Yep wheels and tyres are as timmy says from JC racing products...nice people. Plus they
are 2.2 inch and fairly deep dish so more suited to the works models and above. I have these on another fairly hopped up yz with the longer Andys front arms and...
So after getting my old Yokomo out of storage and giving it a light dustoff, I though hmmm these cars are fairly rare so maybe I should try and find some parts or a whole 2nd spare car for replacement bits...great idea...as I still really had not...

@rccars4sal, yes, you should be able to directly bolt on your magnesium bulkheads onto a works chassis. The only difference between the 870 and the Works bulkheads is the material - magnesium vs. aluminum, as you state. The aluminum does not oxidize...
This is my old Yokomo I got back after several years and it now is in rough shape but is now in progress of a rebuild....to a Pavidas replica. This is the only Rough Track kit I have ever seen..If anyone can get a part number for this kit I would...

No no! I am not calling you odd.
I meant to say that very few of us find the opportunity to get a great set of cars like yours!!
I apologise if you took it the wrong way!
You've got a great start with that rc10 mip. I look forward to seeing more...
