Turnbuckle Size?

Would either of these Turnbuckles work for a Gold RC10? 1 5/8 or 1 3/8 or BOTH?
If i remember correctly the 2.05 inch turnbuckles on my graphite RC10 had to be ground down so they could be shortened enough to put some negative camber in the rear (without the rod end stabing through the cup and jamming if you know what i mean)

And if these arent the best ones which are??? Thanks

is it a short or wide arm car? it will also depend on your ball stud location, and which ball cups you would be using. the ones in those kits might be longer than a stock ae cup. so, you have to figure that in with the lenght of the tie rod itself, too.

right, its a long arm car and i see your point with the addition of the cups...its tough to eyeball it from the pics...

What do you recommend for ti turnbuckles for a long arm car?

if i remember right, for my c.c. chassis, i got 1 7/8 for the steering, 1 5/8 for the camber, and 1 3/8 for the rear.

now, i used my team car w/ the stock ball cups to measure the lengths i needed. i did not think about the rpm cups that i used being an 1/8" longer. so, that's a 1/4" total per rod. the lengths i got did work, but in reality, i should have gotten ones that were shorter.

that's why i asked what ball cups you were using.

Gotcha I think I have the stock sized ones but if i get the RPM ones I'll buy the shorter turnbuckles thanks for the help cheers

the one thing i hate more than anything is installing ballends on turnbuckles, and its like 20 times worse when its rpm ends and lunsford...

i always get a blister on my thumb and index finger on the 2nd or 3rd one... i need to get some of those pliers with the plastic insert on the end i suppose.

what i do is put a ball stud in an old part. then i snap the ball end on it, get the rod started, and just use the wrench to turn them in. this way all you need to do is hold down on the ball cup with your thumb so it doesn't pop off.

If you have a heat gun, or even a blow dryer, you can warm them up and they go on easy as pie. Like chocolate pudding pie with whip cream and cherries, and I don't mean those fake cherries either.
