:D Using tamiya stuff on your Tomy, that's the spirit!

A lot of the japanese brand stuff is easy to interchange, with some modification at times.
And then again, a lot is not and that's how I ended up with drawers full of out-of-bag parts  As long as I keep building it can still come handy some day

that TB EvoIII C-hub fits perfectly on the Tomy's arm.........no need for any extra washers....... also the color matching is so wonderful..........

of course if Tomy (or the old xpress company) got the original hop-up parts.......that will be even better.......but now this combination is already good enough for me.........

I don't think they would have had any parts if the company still existed, it's that long since they used them. Xpress got out of r/c cars a few years ago now, Dinball has had very little stock left over from the old cars, mainly what their shop has always had in stock rather than anything they got from the old company.
even I asked them about the 1st generation xpress mini.......they said it was out of stock........ :(
I got one :D that still gets raced a lot.

I also have an Xpress 968 touring car that I used for many years racing. And one of their 1/24th sale Mini-X

Hey Mini, does your tomy have rear toe-in?
I found the lack of rear toe-in on my yr-4 a very limiting factor in getting it to handle properly with 4 equal regulation rubber tires. It got so depressing I missed the last 2 races, and they are only monthly.

So I was very glad to find some fitting alternative to the yokes hubs last weekend: with toe-in in the hubs.
The ones I found are from 3 racing. They are intended for the TA-05 and come in different degrees of toe-in.
I chose 3 degrees... maybe over did it in my enthusiasm
Gonna put the car back together and see what gives.

yes........I have the same idea with you indeed.......as long as the rear hub is using 3mm diam suspension pin.......that will be no problem......... :)

Most cars have the toe-in either at the arm mount or built into the arm. That's why it was hard to find good parts.
The TA05 parts are a little narrower than the YR-4 uprights, so I can now alter the wheelbase by about 3mm depending on wheither I need less or more steering. Really thrilled I found those.

Funnily enough I found an article about updating a yr4-m2 in a local rc magazine 3 days after I found the parts.
Guess which parts they recommend to use

I tried to get a translation from my wife, but she was 'not in the mood'.
Would like to know what else they recommend changing...

Are you going to run a buggy shell or wide touring car shell?
Very clean build.

I am going to use the Kamtec repro dogfighter shell in this chassis...........plan to paint something like Masami's pattern........with the background in white instead of green (in Masami's cars)......

for the rear toe-in problem........ I decided to change the original rear hubs to TB EvoIII aluminium ones (produced by "Square") which have a 2.5 degree toe-in.........
