Coyote 4 Wheel drive
My friend has a Old Coyote 4wd offroad buggy, I know I need pictures I am working them. Are they collectible or worth anything? I have never seen one or this one and he knows nothing about them he was thinking about selling it but Like me doesnt know much about them he said its a shaft drive 4 wd with two frame rails like the old Kyosho's? Help?

Re: Coyote 4 Wheel drive
I think this is what your friend will have:
http://www.oople.com/rc/manuals/coyote/
SG Coyote- Italian company... styling cues like the Optima series but poor performance.
Cool piece of history (mid-80s) if you can get it cheap.

Re: Coyote 4 Wheel drive
that robbe's not a 4wd.
civilguy is right.
If you're lucky the search should find an old thread with that car in it on this part of the forum also
It's 4wd with the motor mounted in the mid, but above the center axle.

Re: Coyote 4 Wheel drive
bearrickster- If you do pick it up, think about those spares that purple listed. At $10 a set that seems like a good deal for parts to a buggy that rarely comes up. And you know that if a shop had a bunch of those on the wall it was because those bits broke!!

If they are still on the wall though, it may be because those were the bits that didn'tcivilguy wrote:... And you know that if a shop had a bunch of those on the wall it was because those bits broke!!

Re: Coyote 4 Wheel drive
Ah yes....how could I forget the SG Coyote. My good school buddy had two of these cars back when I was racing my original Optima. Definately a cool looking Italian styled buggy but a real bad performer on the track even in its time. I remember the gears inside the gear box used to shred at the first sign of anything more powerful than one of those ancient 540 motors. A really hot looking car though with some very cool ideas like- mounting 3 cells long on each side of the chassis, cool looking suspension arm set up, kind of cool looking shocks and the coolest part was ofcourse the body. The box art was awesome and the decal sheet was way cool too. The Coyote will make one of the best looking shelfers in my opinion but if you are going to run it i heard they re-releaed the car with metal gears which should make all the difference.
So whats it worth? Well I guess it is worth as much a you like because even though they dont come around all that often they arent really highly sought after. Definately worth $200-$300 to me in really good condition.

Re: Coyote 4 Wheel drive
I had one for a very short time.
It was such an over engineered car, yet things like cells seemed to be such an afterthought !
SGs 8th scale cars however were MUCH better !

Re: Coyote 4 Wheel drive
If anyone has any SG Coyote parts, I am missing a few of the 4WD parts. I would appreciate the opportunity.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.
