Pro's&Con's rc10 b6 split trans

I'm new here what are the pros and cons of having a 3 gear split transmission housing for the Team Associated B6?

If I understand the question correctly, it's for quick access to the diff for changing fluid and also quick access to changing the diff height for different tuning.

The B6 had a 2 piece traditional case. B6.1 and newer have a 3 piece case
