What's the latest slipper upgrade route?
My RC10GT brushless conversion still has the original slipper. The spur gear is kind of "wobbly" as the assembly doesn't sit perfectly against the split pin, and the clutch is a very narrow thin ring around the perimeter of the clutch pad with very little adjustment range. It's almost fully locked out to prevent slipping from the torquey motor and I don't want to strip out my tranny.
I was looking into the B4.2 slipper upgrade but it's looking like most parts are NLA.
Is there another slipper I can retrofit? Something generic or from another brand that might fit nicely? I can machine any needed adapters.

Since it's for a truck, I went with that slipper setup because it comes with the larger spur gears. They have other kits with smaller ones.

Another option is to replace the drive pin and assembly with a B3 slipper. When installing the drive shaft roll pin put the slit facing the motor plate.

Doesn't the GT already have the larger V1 slipper clutch?

I thought the early GT's had the original 2.25 slipper, but I could be mistaken.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 11:51 amDoesn't the GT already have the larger V1 slipper clutch?
* edit: Found this 1999 manual on AE's site. Fig 87 references two old 2.25 p/n's, and Fig. 90 shows the old parts installed. I'd imagine the 1993 manual also has the old slipper parts listed.

My GT is the RTR model from circa 2001.
The clutch looks like this. Never been a big fan of it. I'd like a beefier clutch that I can have the spring more like 50% compressed so I have adjustment range.

Is there any way I can use my steel top shaft instead of the aluminum avid one?

Re: What's the latest slipper upgrade route?
You can try an get a Carbon fiber disk cut to the slipper size. similar to kid again slipper offering.
AS well since you have an eGT this link will apply,

the b4/t4 had a steel stopshaft but those are getting pricey to source.

Mine is the newer flat chassis type, which used the B/T3 slipper.jcwrks wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 11:59 am * edit: Found this 1999 manual on AE's site. Fig 87 references two old 2.25 p/n's, and Fig. 90 shows the old parts installed. I'd imagine the 1993 manual also has the old slipper parts listed.

I have various modifications to my truck so I am hoping things will still line up.

Re: What's the latest slipper upgrade route?
After looking at the Triad slipper some more...
The gear is 48 pitch. The GT came with 32 pitch gears. I am currently running a 21/60 combo. The equivalent size 48-pitch spur is 90T and I'd have to change my pinion to a 32T to mesh.

If she takes a #6585 slipper you can use one of my Carbon Slipper pads bud.
