Going Kyosho Golds because I have them laying around, and they are smooth....trying to use as much stuff as I have without too much wasted purchasing....front idler done....hopefully all plastics will be Associated off-white when done, chassis and noseplate will be Associated gold

Re: Concept 4:10
Ditching the sub c cells, I want to run this car so wrapped an old lrp 2600mah 2s but staying vintage vibe, fits perfect in the chassis
Repaired the back of this old Tekin that was all melted from soldering. I had it laying around .....3.5mm bullets, now I can just plug the wires in, no soldering, same on the motor side

Re: Concept 4:10
I appreciate the sentiments Doug!....actually your quote was what I was thinking exactly when it all started and I will make sure it's a nice build, on a budget tho, got to really limit spending on this one, money is tight right now but hoping "Thumbs" comes thru with some funding

Re: Concept 4:10
That's awesome!
Quite period thinking I reckon rather than today's stuff which is all so similar.
It's inspired me to do a 4wd trailing arm car.

Re: Concept 4:10
Just wasn't happy with the other front suspension....it was too easy...need it to be pure rc10....so I am fabbing up this setup with some short arms and front knuckles Go Mach designed....still got to figure out the bearing size situation but its all gonna work out I think

Re: Concept 4:10
I know it's additional complication and uses newer vintage parts, but it would be cool to have front axles with 12mm hexes and run 2wd RC10B4.2 front wheels. Or maybe the B4.2 fronts wouldn't be too different from the narrow Yokomo fronts. Really, driven jellybean fronts would be extra cool but they're only made as rollers.

Re: Concept 4:10
Yup, Still debating the wheel situation but I think it will be smaller diameter wheels 1.6 -2.0ish for an old school look...Frankentruck wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 2:29 pm I know it's additional complication and uses newer vintage parts, but it would be cool to have front axles with 12mm hexes and run 2wd RC10B4.2 front wheels. Lol
Made some progress, had to redo everything I had done with these arms, steering posts, idler puller had to be moved.....ignore the many colors, that will all be fixed in the end.
I got the front axles in after redrilling the steering knuckles for 10mm bearings and a 62mm dogbone (I only have one I found☹)....got the the proper rear belt on and she fits like a bloody glove!
I was concerned the front suspension wouldn't work out but it looks like it gonna
