Can anyone tell me in which magazines / issue no's / months / years / I can find that Cox advert with that picture please?Hcp22 wrote:I saw a picture online, an old ad, showing the Cox Scorpion (in the US. it was distributed by Cox and the only thing that differs from the Kyosho / Graupner-version are the decals, the box and that it was pre-assembled as far as I know). It said "Modeled after Bob Rodine´s buggy".
It's the same as this one ;-

Sometime in 82' I guess, but I don't know what magazine. It could be just a leaflet distributed by the hobby stores.

Lars,
Had to dig up this thread because I happened up this racer while surfing for design ideas, and thought of your "Blueprint" immediately. I have your next scale project for you. This is an actual electric vehicle, two 380 sized motors out the back, and you'd have it......

Re: “Blueprint” Scorpion!
Came across this thread on account of my new found interest in kyosho Scorpions.
This is an absolutely brilliant idea, build and result.
Truly inspired and inspiring at every step. From reversing the gearbox, through the cage work, the parts selection, the problem solving and craftsmanship, to the painting and finishes. Superb.
Congrats to the creator.
I highly recommend this read to anyone who hasn’t seen it. Belongs to a top ten list.

WOW!!! What a crazy cool build , thanks for bumping this as I'd missed it , a really inspiring build

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.
