Does anybody know what type of plastic was used for the gears on an 834b ? Mine are almost brown discoloured like old RC10 nylon components and I'm wondering if they are nylon , I don't mind the colour as they are out of sight ( I know you can whiten them ) but I am worried about the nylon dehydrating and becoming brittle ! I've read about boiling old nylon parts to rehydrate them but that's only a god idea if it is nylon , I don't want to warp the gears or make them more brittle if they are some other plastic.
Anybody know ?
Also I heard that early gears were not very strong and they were upgraded in later gearboxes ,does anybody know how to tell them apart ?
Yz-834b gear material ?

Re: Yz-834b gear material ?
The general consensus is that the yellow ish ones are nylon, the earlier ones were more of a green material apparently and very brittle so they changed them. Hope this helps
