Whats the deal with Novak ESC switch's

I recently bought a couple used Novak ESC's (Dually & Hammer Pro). I've never had a Novak ESC before. WHY are the on/off switchs so FREAKING small. They are so small I cant even stick them to the sidewall of the chassis with double sided tape. It takes more pressure to turn them on than it takes for them to stick so when I try to turn them on they simple pull off the chassis. How do you mount one of these things? Why would they make something so small?

I have a solution for you, had to drill one small hole, countersink it and.....

it makes for a clean install, notice the double sided tape to dampen vibration, but you do have to drill for a 4-40 screw.

i used to use shoe goo to hold it in place. that sucker wouldnt move them lol. you dont need to drill a hole then.

i used to use shoe goo on my yoke mx4 to hold the servo down, wasnt really enough room for servo mounts

i dont think the shoe goo ever came loose ever holding the servo, or any switches for that matter.

On some I have CA'd the switch to the esc case, which makes switching radio gear from one car to the other much easier.

I like them that size. The side of the case of a GT7 allows you to slide it on.



Of course you can always whack them off and solder in an old school giant Futaba switch

Is shoe Goo just the same as silicone sealant?

Most of the guys that I knew back in the day use to cut off the switch and solder the wires together. It takes only one time to accidentally turn off the ESC during a race to understand why they did that.

As for the size of the switch, they probably wanted give the appearance of weight savings. Who knows...your guess is as good as mine.
