How to fix bent rc10 chassis????????????

My friend is doin a rc10 build and the chassis is a bit bent. were debating how to unbend it. bit pushed up in the front,bit in back dent on the motor guard. ya know basic used rc10 issues(got a few rc10 chassis that can use some help too).think people posted about this in the past but i could not find . please post any ideas,pics, past pics, or past topics. thanks

blocks of wood, rubber hammers, and a well placed boot is usually effective.

for that fella, I would run a straight edge across the bottom and see where it need to flex back, then flip upside down on a couple narrow pieces of wood and put some weight on it, a good firm boot applied with some increasing weight will get it moving the right way. the wood works good because the chassis sides kinda dig in and this prevents them from folding in or out.

if that isn't enough, you can use a bench vise or press in a similar layout, just using more force.

after it is sufficiently flat, the back motor guard will need some massaging with a rubber hammer around something round, like a pvc pipe or metal pipe with some paper or plastic as a liner to use as a dolly.

really, it's just standard metalworking type stuff, if you know how, it's easy, if not, it takes some practice.

thanks for a fast reply . hope to get some pics to send my friend(plus I could use some ideas too). was trying to explain some ideas kinda like you were talking about but was hard to do over the phone. trying to find a post/pic of a clever way to fix a bent chassis I saw a good one in the past but silly me I didn't save it. i remember seeing the post and said to my self that's how I'm gonna fix my chassis but I never did

I sandwiched the nose between two pieces of 2x4 and while standing on the wood using my other foot to gently bend the chassis back by standing on it. I didn't just reef on it in one go but sort of bounced up and down on it varying the pressure and checking progress as I went. It looked scary the way the chassis was bending but you'd never know when it was done. I also checked for straightness by rocking it front to back and corner to corner on a piece of glass.

I've posted these before in another thread but this is the same chassis before and after, it was bent similarly to yours. After about 30-45 mins is was dead straight.

This worked for my re-re chassis, There is a perfectly fitting block in the front, bolted in place with the nose tube holes and nose plate holes to keep the sides from opening.

Simple method I use that allows you to apply smooth even pressure. I use two sets of mounting holes to even out the pressure and I don't worry about the sides. Nothing was holding the sides when the chassis got bent. Don't be in a hurry and have a straight edge to constantly check your progress.

Before I asked/posted I was kinda doing it the opposite of you guys. putting the chassis on a block with the nose sticking out about 6 inches stepping 1 foot on the chassis and stepping 1 foot on the front end of chassis applying pressure bending chassis down. It did not get much better my way.
