sounds good, I was just looking out for ya; it would suck to start having premature failures on that part, when it can be made bulletproof pretty cheaply. Not saying it would, but the potential is there. And one thing we know as customers and engineers, if there is a way to break something, SOMEONE will find it

FYR, there have been shapeway issues with the NIX91, not in engineering, but in in the physical printing process.

Just got word back from Robinson, we have part numbers!

Part # 2309 Hardened Extended shaft Steel Idler gear one pair 36.50
Part # 2308 Alum.7075 T-6 Alloy 15t Pulleys one pair 35.50

Shipping Ups 12.50 Flat rate

They are also doing the stealth diff gears too, not necessary but cool 8)

Part # 2310 Hard Anodized Alum. 45t / 48p Diff gear 22.50 ea.

Although he gave me ordering info I would prefer to test the gears first. If you are impatiently waiting (Dan ) you can order direct from Robinson but I would prefer you wait

That's great news Jeff! I'll wait, that way it doesn't seem so expensive to build

Is that belt looking too thick or is it just the pic?

If you are talking about the width, we made it 6 millimeter wide so it is very easy to locate replacements. You can find them even on amazon.com. Anything four or five millimeter would be custom, requiring an additional wait and more money

Well, I'm sorry to say I was not able to get the car to runner status for tonight at the track, I didn't get a chance to work on it yesterday. So next thursday for sure. Still left to do:
Make new nose tubes (I'll make some extra sets and offer them for sale, too)
Put in/wire electronics
Let 'er rip!

It's going to be tight for sure with this type of battery. It will require use of low-profile battery connector bullets with the wires coming in horizontally. For other types of packs where the wires come out more from the center of the pack it won't be an issue. Another option is to mount the battery from side to side. That's the fun though of these projects, problem solving. 8)

We could also make some bolt in battery trays for saddle or other battery placement. Can't move the belt, gotta move the battery

I really like shortie packs, and a sideways shortie looked really nice when I mocked it up. But I only happen to have one battery cup laying around, so I'm going to make the stick pack fit. If it was easy it wouldn't be fun
