Tranny ID help

Hi,
i got this tranny with a bunch of ultima parts i bought and i would like to know what it was used for and who it was made by , the only thing i am sure about is that it will bolt to an ultima 2 chassis

I can only tell you 3 things;
1) that's a serious end-ratio you 'll get
2) you're motors weightpoint will be off-center
3) it uses the original balldiff of anultima and should accept the utlitma geardiff also

Looks like it was made for dirt oval racing

That transmission was made by J-CAR

Just a little story about the transmission. I was talking to the J CAR rep and he told me that some tracks were banning the use of the transmission because they didn't recognize it as a transmission, but rather a direct drive unit. J CAR made an idler gear which bolted next to the spur and the pinion gear would then drive the idler gear. The transmission was then legal.

I did the same thing with my reflex 10 (R&R titan...Jim Dieter version prior to him joining Trinity). The local oval track was giving me a hard time.

You have a really nice find there...there are so many options.
