Need Help. Battery wont fit.

Post by KV78 »

Just bought this truck. I wanted an RC10T back when I was a kid. I ened up getting a JRXT (that I was very happy with) back then. Anyways, I have some Tenergy 6 cell batteries packs and they wont fit. Even when I changed the battery cups to verticle. Any suggestions besides switching to lipo? Thanks< Kennth

is this what you have ?

if so than ya its a hard fit .. you could remove the end caps .. it will help and if you have to put a notch in the battery cup to make room for the wires comming out of the end

Using more modern cells in a side to side orientation is typically too wide, heck even with the old batteries it was tight. Even front to rear it's going to be long but you can cut out the cup as needed.

Thanks guys. I'm just happy to have an RC10T since I have wanted one since 1992. Even though, from what I'v gathered, this is a sport truck 7011??? Did it come with this machanical speed control?

Mario, i Just got it in the mail Friday so I have not looked at the motor yet. I do know that it is a Reedy motor. I'll check check what the chassis is stamped when I get home and let you know. I'm guessing that the chassis is stamed near where the motor is mounted? Sorry....this is my first Team Associated.

The motor is a Reedy Outlaw Stock. The chassis is stamped B. Would you mind telling me what the B stands for?

B stamp is pretty common truck stamp. Look at the bottom of the chassis, see the holes that let you run the battery front to rear? Are they offset to one side or are they centered? Centered is later B stamp

Hi KV78,

I have the same style batteries and they just fit with the end caps on, just do what Gomachv said,

run battery length wise, front to rear.

The new bulkheads have been modified for better battery fit, the floor has been removed and the

roof has been raised.

Here's a pic of a couple of modified cups, you can also cut the floor of the cup out for more

clearance.

Dave. :)

These tubs came in a few forms:
-Non stamped............. considered worthless by most collectors, and I would be happy to trade you a new mint RE-RE (nip) chassis for it  J/K very rare!
-A stamped (bottom, then top stamped)
-A/B stamped
-B stamped (with a few versions)
-C stamped
-C stamped (Worlds Milled)

When the stealth was introduced, with a relocation of the battery holes, a "B" replaced the "A".
