It is not magnetic...Good or bad. It also dont have a flat spot where the hub bolts on like the manual shows. its perfectly strait.Phin wrote:Hmm. Check the rear axle with a magnet to test if it's steel or titanium.
Re: my first ever rc12l rebuild
is that hard to find? Ive never owned a pan car. dont know much. Im more off road type.Phin wrote:If it's not magnetic it's good...means it's Titanium.

Re: my first ever rc12l rebuild
Stock RC12L rear axle was graphite with an aluminum diff end so the Ti one is an aftermarket piece sold by a couple of companies BITD. T&A Machining is the most common seen on eBay. Pre-RC12L AE 1/12 cars had steel axles which is why I said test it with a magnet.
Not super hard to find but a decent part to have. They're sturdier than the graphite but weigh more so suffer from more rotating mass. (Less than steel though.)

I almost bid on that car. I needed the parts from it but found them elsewhere. What a transformation! Amazing what a bit of dye and polish will do. BTW, you have your front tires on backwards.
Re: my first ever rc12l rebuild
I thought i might lol. oops. I need a nylon washer for them anyways ill flip em when i get it. I think ill put a novak 410 and a camealon 19t i have and see what she will do. If i dont like it ill put it back on ebay.rraeford wrote:I almost bid on that car. I needed the parts from it but found them elsewhere. What a transformation!
