Another wheel question. Front this time.
Another wheel question. Front this time.
The Evader front wheels have been out of stock forever and I want to run my OIN. Do the Thunder Tiger Phoenix BXII front wheels have the same offset as the Evader fronts?

Skip the Duratrax wheels. I cracked both sides after one day of racing. kind of disappointing. I have since converted my front to hex hubs so I can run AKA wheels.

I run the Thunder Tiger wheels on my CE and haven't had any issues. They are the same as a B3 wheel so they work with no problems.

Both thunder tiger and the new worlds rims for the front have the B4 offset. The norm these days for the CE and klien arms are inline steering blocks and gt wide axles.

The Thunder Tiger wheels sure don't seem to be a B4 offset to me. I have several sets of these http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXALSC&P=Z and run them on my standard wide arm CE with the regular axles and have zero problems. They seem identical to the B3 wheels that I have also.

B3 front wheels have the same offset as B4 wheels. B2 wheels were different.

Really? How were B3 wheels a different offset from the B4 wheels? I've got a B3 front end with B4 steering and B4 wheels and it's the exact same width as a B4. Even the outer to outer hinge pin distance is identical. Were the B3 steering components offset that much different?

The difference is mostly in the caster blocks. The B3 parts have an offset closer to the original RC10.fredswain wrote:Really? How were B3 wheels a different offset from the B4 wheels? Throw a set of b3 rims on your car and messure the track withd . You will see the differance in what is called rim offset.fredswain wrote:Really? I know what offset is. What is confusing is how can a B3 front end and a B4 front end be identical in width from outer king pin to outer kingpin yet use different offset wheels? It has to be in the steering hubs.
