The regular-sized Johnson

Post by esaresky75 »

I have a new Johnson motor from a power tool, hate to toss it into the scrap bin. Here's the specs:http://terpconnect.umd.edu/~grams/motor%20HC683LG-001.pdf

Thoughts if it would be any good for bashing?

540/05-sized motor from a powertool or rideon toy doesn't necessarily
mean its suitable for our RC, they can come in many different windings
internally specced for 3/6/12/18/24/etc volt usage

tool motors often have a knurled shaft for press-on pinion too;
you'd need to file off the knurls then cut a flat onto the hard shaft
to fit a RC pinion... not the easiest job in the world :wink:

putting mod 540s into powertools & powertoys otoh... that's another story :twisted:
