Re: A-Main Bullet Fwd 4ws RC10 conversion Tribute build
Well, I woke up to "no route" so I decided to take a drive. Two and a half hours later I'm in eugene at the hobby shop that made these creations.
Asked the guy at the counter if anyone there would have been working 26 years ago.
Yup
Just went to lunch. DOH!
Shopped a bit, disappointed that they have little to no old stock. Got an hour left to dig up more change for the parking meter lol. Killin time...killin time....
Anyone wanna play words with friends?

Wow! That Mr. Graphite figure totally made my day!
What Beetle body and front tires were used on that? Any idea on how many kits were made?
Imagine if they would have still had some of those kits in the back room.

Awesome work, this is looking like a really cool build. The original pics looks sweet.

I am still driving... I will give you all more info a little bit later
There were about 100 kits made, some reaching over to England
The chassis was made locally
Mystery hollow threaded rod is made by kimbrough
There was an offset oval version with battery cutouts made!
I did take the aluminum version with me, I would call the feeling "blown away" lol
He has seen this thread now, and hopefully will be joining in on it!

I'll take one of those kits too, please.
I actually have plans of making an on-road/oval version if you decide to make the kits.

Re: A-Main Bullet Fwd 4ws RC10 conversion Tribute build
It's going to happen. I'm sourcing some metal to have formed for the mold, and with Phin's help I think we have someone to lay up the chassis 4 at a time (might only be one batch?!)
With the re-re out its easy to get the parts now, and it's a repro anyway so why not!
The carbon parts are going to be pricy, but not out of control pricy (IMO). Just have to keep in mind it's a very limited re-production
This fronts look familiar. AJ's I'm sure. Need to do some digging.
