!
Ok guys, I need your expertise on getting the transmission apart to get the bearings. I did a search but couldn't find anything on the six gear trans.. These c clips are hard to get out.. I don't want to fubar them getting them out.. is there any guides, etc. on doing this. also the top idler gear. how the heck do I get that apart without messing it up.. (where the slipper attaches to the idler) All help appreciated!

here is the manural http://www.teamassociated.com/pdf/cars_and_trucks/RC10_Classic/RC10_Classic_Kit/manual_RC10Classic_2013.pdf
if you talking about the ring clips in the out drives .. yes they are a pita .. easy way is with a set of ring gear plyers .. hard way is with a metal pick to pull one side in and up and work the clip around
as for the top shaft the one gear is press fit on the diff tube so just put a flat head screwdriver between the bushing and diff tube and work it off

Re: Check Out My New Ride!
UPDATE!
Thank you integra! I got the c clips out, had to use two precision screwdrivers and held pressure inward, and got the wife to pry out with another precision flat tip and keep it from zinging across the house lol.. hard as crap but we got it! that top idler gear was hard as crap to pry off too.. ;( had to have her assistance! It's really close to done now! all bearings installed except the two idler gears with the REALLY small hex's.. even my micro wrenches were too big. will round one up soon.. Anyway. Parts peroxided, paint, and I fixed the nose plate by sticking it in between two boards on my porch and prying it back straight. Surprised me how tough that aluminum is! 1 nose tube installed never did find the other one. So all I need to do is order the steering parts, and nose tubes, rear tires and ill be good to go... Looks very nice now! Ill try and get some pics up later tonight/early tomorrow for sure! went from a 50 dollar dustcollector to a probably 200 dollar car once it is 100% done! 1 more thing.. what can I do for the leaky ass shocks? I have lots of o ring assortments.. will they help in the caps? looks like that's where they are leaking, but im no expert on these cars.. may be around the shafts..

Re: Check Out My New Ride!
oh and I had to take the dremel to the outdrives and the part that the outdrives rotate on to get the bearings to slide over. also I had to do the same on one of the front axles to get them on too.. you would think after having bushings they would have wore the parts down over time.. maybe this car wasn't driven a lot or was well lubricated all the time.. can't believe how much better it rolls now..

Re: Check Out My New Ride!
sounds like the seals are gone in the bottom of the shocks .. just pick up a rebuild kit as you will need the tool to install
also check your shock shafts for wear and make sure they arent bent
i rember when i put bearings in my rc10 for the first time i could beleve how well the rims would spin .. 15 sec on bushings 3 min on bearings

Do you or anyone happen to know what size the small idler gear hex size is?

Re: Check Out My New Ride!
the manual calls for :
• Allen wrenches (AE # 6950)
(.050”, 1/16”, 3/32”, 5/64”)
• Allen wrench .035”
im thinking it ether the .035 or .050

Re: Check Out My New Ride!
Update: Here's the pics I promised..... Everything is ordered for this now except for the rear tires.. As soon as they are in stock at Tower hobbies I will order them.. Let me know what you all think. Remember this is the body I got with the car, not a new body..

I think it turned out pretty decent
Will be running a lipo battery, and keeping the brushed motor its a 21t Trinity Ex Spec, a new Esc on the way and will be running it off my AE XP3-SS 2.4ghz radio..
I think it turned out pretty decent especially since I won't have a whole lot of money in it!
