Bought a Lazer ZX for upgrade parts for my OMC.

Post by OMC-Mikey »

On the upgrade list for my car were gold shocks and CVD's but they're not cheap so, for right or wrong, I bought this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kyosho-lazer-zx-vintage-/200940030200?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=QxXLn0RWVqjTZ3nJ%252BJYZob0JiQA%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

From what I gather I'll need to use the ZX arms and carriers...no biggie.

Anyone else done this or know what other parts on the ZX that I can throw on the OMC as upgrades?

Thanks.

Mike.

Unsure what your trying to do so more info please. If your trying to upgade a ZX to what we used in 89/90 then obviously ujs all round, carbon fibre shock towers, chassis and two piece top deck. Ball races throughout as well as alloy pivot blocks and alloy rear top deck mount which the last two items were not kyosho items. Manni Panesar invented the front roll bar for the ZX and preffered it, but wasnt used by many people. Oh and we didnt run the belt protector.

Yep, I'm after upgrading my Optima Mid Custom and it seemed a cheap and quick way to do it.

I got it yesterday and will begin taking it down today.

Thanks.

Except for the suspension parts, screws, and ball bearings there likely won't be anything you can use.

Diffs (internals), wheels and tyres, front CVD's with hubs and the steering all on the Mid right now, haven't played with the shock stays or wishbones yet.

From what I've gathered so far I'd say only the top deck and most but not all of the transmission can't be used on the Mid.

I'm thinking of buying a new Scorpion XXL so it may get a rest for a while :)
