72 tooth spur

Post by Boredome »

Is there any way for a 72 tooth spur and a 21 tooth pinion to work in my rc10 gold pan with stealth gear box. The motor hits the gear box before gears make contact. I thought I read that some one had this gearing before?

I had the same thing happen to me recently. I bought a 72 tooth spur gear thinking it was a good starting point. Turns out it is way too small... i ended up going with a 87 tooth spur gear and a 23 tooth pinion. I'm running the same motor and the same B4 top shaft/slipper.

From what I've read this should be a decent starting point for that particular brushless motor and stealth transmission.

a 25 tooth pinion and 87 spur will put you at about the same gear ratio. as your 21 and 72.

dont know if there is any benefit to using the smaller gear set.
