My Futaba FX10... rally?

Post by UserUnrelated »

I just figured I'd come post up here so people can look at some fun pictures!
Futaba FX10 chassis, I don't even know what kind of body this is, but it's old, and really awesome.
I have a whole second FX10 in almost-showroom condition (as well as 3 Tamiya Strikers/sonic fighters), so I figured I'd do something fun!

Onto some pics!

I made custom body mounts using the front bar from a pancar in the rear mounted to the wing mounts, and a modified rear wing up front (don't worry, I have 6 more) It works quite well.

I just figured this was too nifty looking not to share
I think I'm really going to enjoy putting around with this!
I'll get some video of it for sure when I take it out. It's been raining a lot, so it might be a while

Looks like a Chevelle to me. I think it was made by Bolink.

I think someone did mention it being a bolink somewhere else...

Electronics are all set!
Depending on how this goes, I do have brushed stuff for it, but this was just quick and easy.

it's projects like this that make me wish I had a 21.5T kicking around... I might have to get one.
I ran a 17.5T in one of the Falcons I used to own, and that went alright, and it has the same drivetrain design. I don't expect it to blow up or anything.

I had a lot of fun bitd with a striker. Not a bad entry level car, and pretty darn durable.

Yeah, I've got more strikers than I know what to do with!
The only thing that I really want for this is the CRP camber/front shock tower kit...
but I paid $45 for the whole massive box of FX10's and strikers, so paying $30 for ONE upgrade part for one buggy is sort of tough haha.
I'm running low on spare FX10 arms (only have 4 of them ) , if I break one, I'm going to get the upgrade kit... I've got about 12 striker front arms, though.

I bought all this stuff quite a while ago, and besides building up a Sonic Fighter shelf queen (literally brand new parts, except for the slightly scratched and box-o-parts worn unpainted bod and chassis), I never really did anything with these.
I had a TON of fun with the 2 Falcons I used to own, but someone gave me an offer for those that I couldn't refuse, so I sold them, and then shortly after, bought all this stuff.
I've been busy lately, and haven't RC'd much, I'm hoping to get back into it and have some fun!

I really enjoyed your video

Brought me back to when I was a kid...my first car was a FX10!

Forgot how much they bounce around!

Continue to have fun with yours, looks cool :D
Back at again because of a phone call..."Hey, how do you adjust those old Novaks?"
I have a RC channel on YouTube too...take a look at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuAS9eDBj_wSIyl4JakUIzA Thanks :)
