Re: How many versions of the RC10T were there?
My 7001 kit came with those early arms and boy were they fragile. The first revision wasn't much better. I think it was the 3rd or 4th trip to the parts counter when I finally got a set of RPM arms. I raced that truck for several years with the RPM arms, and that same set is still on the truck today. And, no, I never really learned how to drive without hitting stuff.

Speaking of fragile early parts, these were another problem area These things are .070 ( 7001 1st-2nd ) and they loved to break as well, that might expain why I still have more than one set NIPaeiou wrote:My 7001 kit came with those early arms and boy were they fragile. Re: How many versions of the RC10T were there?
Since Paul brought the RPM arm thing up, it made me think about the differences in those arms as well
The arms around 91-92 made by RPM had one mounting hole and an open center
The next version 92-96 ( white ) 96-present ( other ) had 2 mounting holes, and bracing in the center of the arm
The rears were un-changed other than color
Of course, there is still the ball cup differences, the other shock towers, the turn buckles etc

My truck still has the original paper-thin shock towers that came in the kit. How they survived, I have no idea. I was certainly upside down enough.Charlie don't surf wrote:Speaking of fragile early parts, these were another problem area These things are .070 ( 7001 1st-2nd ) and they loved to break as well, that might expain why I still have more than one set NIPaeiou wrote:My 7001 kit came with those early arms and boy were they fragile. Here's my old truck all cleaned up in its final as-raced configuration. It has the B tub with both offset and inline battery box holes. Oh, there were some chassis differences, too. Right, Reggie?

Yup
Early B stamp/Black A stamp chassis on the left, Later B stamp on the right-(Kinwald screws set into the battery holes for a better example)
