Schumacher still sell 2" full spike tyres on their website if you need any more.

Re: CAT XL
Hi Guys..
Cool restoration there...I was wondering if any of you can offer me some help.
I recently bought a Schumacher XL which is heavily used.. I was wondering if any of you have any idea where to obtain a new or mildly used XL or XLS chassis... It seems like my XL has been modified with a homemade chassis which is a lot wider..
The XLS body that I bought does not fit this car at all.

Hey Kelvin
So, send Terry an email at [email protected]
He has just made a complete chassis kit for me in grp. Awfully nice fellow.

Hi Neils
Thank you for the reply.. that was very helpful.. Here is a picture of my car. Can you tell which chassis is it? is it the XL or the procat?

Re: CAT XL
I'd say XLS. Its wider than the XL plus has some kind of modified or aftermarket chassis plate.
Great start either way mate.

Re: CAT XL
The chassis is definitely homemade. I guess if I have to use this, I will have to shorten the sides of the chassis.
Where apart from eBay am I able to get new tires and wheels for him?

Cool, thank you. Building this thing has been so much fun and calming (apart from the bleeding hands part)
One thing I have learnt from this is that, yes, Schumacher made an awesome car that destroyed the competition back in the day. But my god, they couldn't write an instruction manual to save their lives!!
So I still have to decide which supplier of the lexan stuff is best. I've read good and not so good things about the 4 different manufacturers who can press a body/wing and under tray kits....... any recommendations ?
Still on the look out for (T029 T515) one way clutch housings. Battery clips (CO58 T513) and rear wing buttons (T107)
Re: CAT XL
Trying to come up with ideas for spraying the shell (which I still have to get (any ideas on suppliers, quality etc)
How hard could it be? Considering the last time I tried ( Tamiya Hornet) was painted with a brush on the outside of the shell 27 years ago.......I had no idea!
I also have to paint a second body with my son's handiwork.......... any ideas?

Re: CAT XL
Your sons attempt looks like something I would have painted back in the 80's
Definately retro.
I've got a new Frewer shell for my XL, but i'm unsure if you can get these repro yet?
