looking for a Lazer zx5 body
looking for a Lazer zx5 body
Since christmas is around the corner I want to add a bady for my Lazer zx5 to the list, but I can't seem to find any except from Kyosho. Does anyone else make one??

Just saw a new lazer body on the racks here, kyosho but called 'vulcan'.
Is that any different from yours?

Re: looking for a Lazer zx5 body
I have no Idea. The only ones I know of are the stock ones don't know what they're called and a new one that is coming out on the zx5sp called a bullet(i think). This is my first kyosho since Ive been back into RC cars.Mr. ED wrote:Just saw a new lazer body on the racks here, kyosho but called 'vulcan'.

I checked the japanese site and (stumbling around) found the ZX5SP. Strange the names is different cause that looks pretty much like the body I remember seeing over the weekend.RC Chick wrote:I have no Idea. Could you do me a favour and measure 2 dimensions on your buggy?
How wide is this body?
What is the distance from the face* of the axle to the pin on the dogbone end?
*the part of the axle which is touching the bearing.
(Is the this distance the same on the front and rear-axles?)

The Bullet is the newest offering from Kyosho. It does look better than the stock body. RC Chick, Ultimate Hobbies in Orange usually carries both bodies and sells online. Give them a call or check their website ultimatehobbies.com

So what's the vulcan then?
I had it in my hands this weekend, labeled kyosho and lazer for sure.

I'll check it out. I just wanted something different than stock and the bullet looks cool. I don't know about that vulcan body though never heard of it.JK Racing wrote:The Bullet is the newest offering from Kyosho. It does look better than the stock body. Re: looking for a Lazer zx5 body
I'll do my best to get the measurements tomarrow. What I do know about the zx5sp is that it is shorter than the zx5. That's the only thing I can remember from the LHS guy when I had him call his rep from kyosho about the sp. There was a little more but that was the major thing.Mr. ED wrote:I checked the japanese site and (stumbling around) found the ZX5SP. Re: looking for a Lazer zx5 body
the SP has all new front/rear suspension parts that were tested at this years worlds. the SP body is the Bullet body, but they are releasing an all new wing with it. The wheelbase should be exactly the same, it just has the revised arms.
as a side note...I will be upgrading to the new arms as soon as the parts are available. my understanding is the front is heavily revised, using a more losi xx4 style front carrier set up, the rear moves the hinge pin points either in or out for better rotation through the corners.

Re: looking for a Lazer zx5 body
Mr Ed. if I measured correctly the front is 3 1/4" and the rear is te same. The body is 5 1/4" wide at the rear and tapers down to the front. I am certianly no expert on measuring but that's what I came up with.

Re: looking for a Lazer zx5 body
Thankyou for those measures.
I think these universals should fit my dogfighter: would be handy if I could use the 12mm hexes and share the wheels between my kyosho and yoky.
At the worlds they had a little shop which had 3 different lengths of universals for the lazer, but my local shop doesn't have any on the rack
By the way, I double-checked the vulcan body and it is for the SP indeed. I guess they are marketing these bodies under a different name here.
