Very cool! This is probably not hard to DIY but one has to measure the original threads very carefully. Who will be the first person to de-anodize some golds and thread them up? Would be awesome for a runner.

I have threaded some copper pipes for the kitchen once which was easy with the right tools.
Cheers

If I'm not mistaken, Option House made 2 different short shocks; I believe one was for the Optima series and the other for the Ultima series. I was surprised one day going through my shock parts to discover 2 different short shock bodies with Kyosho's gold anodizing. :?

An alternative idea is to use a set of 3Racing dampers for the Lazer ZX-5, they're already threaded with adjustable collars. Note that in this pic, the front shocks look way too long (custom front shock tower) but they're not that much longer than stock front Golds; just that this car is using much shorter front control arms. I believe the fronts are about 10mm longer than stock, fully extended, but you can negate that difference with spacers inside the shocks and short ball-cups. The rears are almost identical to stock, if I recall correctly.

Here's an interesting one.

A good friend is restoring his friends mid for him and it has these threaded shocks....I questioned their originality but hes sure they were in the new kit box along with a wire wing mount?? I've asked for pics of the wing mount.

From the pic these look darker gold than Kyosho golds so perhaps Duratrax? But I've never seen threaded ones before....

Have you managed to get a pic of the wire wing mount?
