Paul.
It's a very well engineered car, I wouldn't fancy changing the belt in a hurry. It has some option parts which include an alloy rear bulkhead, alloy hingepin braces and the clicker from the later SE model.
Just need a new body and undertray, which I'll get from TBG next year.
That looks to be a very neat build indeed, looks like you've been busy this Christmas period! I look forward to seeing some more pics of the car (did you take any photos mid-build?).
In off road racing I've always only raced 2wd, but the only real experience I've had with driving a 4wd buggy was with a Cat2000 that I used to take home & prepare/maintain for the model shop that sponsored me at the time (RJH models in Corby), the car was raced by a lad who was a fellow sponsored driver but was really too young to work on his own car. I would obviously test out the car & the main impression I got was just how easy it was to drive! Obviously prob any 4wd would give me that impression given that I was only used to my 2wd cars but the CAT really dud feel like you could chuck it at any bump or corner & it would come out the other side, racing 4wd must a far more intense experience!
@ Alex..... looking at your wing, will you finish off the shell in Jurgen Lutenbach colours?
Dan, no build pics this time. As for the paint have you got any pics Jurgen Lutenbach colours? This is gonna be my last build for a while, second Alex b jr on the way so I'm saving for all those nappies

I thought I would share a recent purchase from ebay. I bought this as it looked genuine, and to me was an interesting car.
I raced a few of the old Schumacher cars, and love cars with a race pedigree. This looks like a car that could have been UK...

Luke,
Could be Jons but dont recall him using that colour scheme on any of his cars, and raced him at most Welsh championship events. Great find if it is. Also hope you still have your Lazer.
I recently restored the original car - body was lost years ago so this is painted by Chris Holden (Gingapaint) who used to paint some shells for CD. Decals I worked on with Nathaneal of MCI. All the lexan is genuine Schumacher (wing is...

Great job. Looking forward to the body off pics, should the motor plate and heat sinks be red or purple in the EC I have both for my project but not sure which is correct?
Can anyone tell me whether the parts for the Schumacher Cat, Cat XL and Cat XLS are the same? Also, there appear to be various parts listed on EBAY with part numbers beginning with U. Does anyone know whether I can locate a list which sets out which...

Hee hee - didn't know you could buy alu belt covers! We used to make ours out of old biscuit tins!
Whatever the original owner was doing, he was definitely on a mission - there's a spare XLS bumper (looks unused) and some front shock towers (with...
I recently picked up a Schumacher Cat 98 on an impulse buy. I haven't gone through the car yet, but know that it'll need complete front shocks and the layshaft and slipper assembly. Anyone know of a good source for parts besides eBay?

The write-up at this link has numerous 2000/3000 series related exploded diagrams (starting on page 14) for cross-referencing and may be helpful.
Also found schumie-spares to be a good source for parts with excellent customer service.
I just found some pics of my old Schumacher CAT 2000. Too bad i sold it before i was into vintage RC, especially because of the TEKIN ESC :?. Also pictured is a cool purple anodised chassis gate that i designed & manufactured at that time (pm me if...
