schumacher cat what a nightmare

ive been stripping a few cats of late and what amazes me is the ammount of parts, there are so many!
cant say im looking forward to cleaning it all looks like a lot of work. bet you can you relate? id never want to race one and work on it

Wait till you start try setting one up.....absolute pain in the butt. Besides it is a Schumacher its meant to be complicated.

I've been building CATS and racing them for years. The intergrater diff set up is good fun and not an easy set up to get right. It's easy to see why they went with the solid top shaft and drum diff in the Procat.
Don't think I would want to race an original CAT or even the XLS but the Procats are a real beast on the race track.

My first RC car was a fox, it took about 8 hours to build. My first CAT, an XL, took about 20 hours.

How about the original instruction manuals. I have 3 different types and they are all bloody confusing!

This week I 'ave been mostly... building my Procat. Yes, takes for ages to get at the gearbox but I know it inside out now. Hopefully racing it at Stotfold again this Sunday and will try to get videos (promise!) Unfortunately I broke the bumper and nylon z-bracket last Sunday...

oh really!! i wonder why mr schumacher i could build one in around that time i reckon, its just all the polishing and cleaning will takes ages i have a 2 litre ice cream container and its full to the top with the parts wish me luck

Maybe my fingers have all gotten old and fumbly since I used to race, but when I compare my SX to my old ProCat I can't ever imagine being able to build the SX quicker! The ProCat was the pinnacle of simplicity for me - am I the only one to think that?!

same old story its what ya get used to i guess, unless im nuts there are so many little parts. even took longer then normal to dismantle which was the tell tale for me. ive stripped alot of cars

Nah they are not that bad, once you get used to them. If you are building a runner, seal the belt covers up good and you hardly ever need to touch them.

i was really keen to clean and assemble my cats today but that didnt happen thank god
