RC10t4.1

Can the RC10T4.1 run in low to medium grass? My Goldpan can't on my Castle Creations sct system, so ie as wondering if the T4.1 could due to its long arms and shocks and bigger tires. Will it just fish tail around the yard or will it actually be driveable? I had a traxxas slash before that was also 2wd and all it did was fish tail on the stock brushed set up. Would the t4.1 be a good backyard basher or should i look more Into (what I hear to be) a problem prone Sc10 4x4? Any suggestions for other cars? Here is the criteria is like the car to meet:
-Be under 6 pounds
-Be around $200
-BE ABLE TO DRIVE IN GRASS
-Be able to be raced
-Be durable
-Be 1/10th scale
-Be a single motor vehicle

Any suggestions? I'm used to buggies, but as I said my gold pan just can't go through grass no matter what tires I try on It or how I drive it.

the wider tires will help it alot and it won't dig in as much.
that said i haven't had an issue with my b4 in low to medium low grass at all.

but if you really want a great "grass basher" save your $$ and get a rc8be or rc8e.2
1/8 scale is soooo much fun and nothing stops them.

1/8 is nice but won't really fit in my small running space. I've heard that the tires on the T4.1 were pretty bad for grip. I was hoping that the large tires would give me some ground clearance. I dont know. Would the Sc10 4x4 be a good truck as well? I can get a cheap roller but I heard they were known for leaky diffs, leaky shocks that fall apart, and they are hard to work on to fix these issues, not to mention supposed crappy tires again. Any thoughts there either? I like the 4x4 but it is more expensive and maintenance prone.

personally i'd only go with the sc10 4x4 if i was racing because it is a pia to work on, not a great basher.
if you want a great 4x4 sc basher look at ofna, that thing is a tank. the losi is pretty tough as well.
stock t4.1 tires aren't great but then again you're running on grass so who cares.

t4.1 has a bit more ground clearance compared to a buggy but not much, they were made for todays smooth tracks.
i'm sure you could "jack" up the suspension but then it would flip over alot and handle like a bag of you know what.

RC10t4.1 brushless rtr with 2.2 proline dirt hawgs is my fav basher .. my buddy has his t4 set up with 2.2 badlands and thats his fav basher.. tons of fun on the lawn..the frontend almost floats across the grass .. as far as price its about $210 shipped if your a member at tower hobbies

My Goldpan spins out whenever I even touch the steering wheel, so I take it the t4.1 wouldn't do that as much? The floating front end sounds like it should eliminate that.

sounds like there's a set up issue with the gold pan.

The diff on my 6 year is a little fried... It never worked right anyway though. I need an idler gear for my 2.25 stealth though, because it melted during some more spin outs. Would the car spin out this much if the front was lighter? Or should the rear end be lihhter?

i've never had an idler gear go. are you mashing the throttle all the time?

i have a feeling you have the suspension too stiff or something, are the spring collars down? meaning did you jack it up for ground clearance? even with a locked diff it shouldn't do that, spin out. if anything it will make the turning radius larger/slower.

I'm lucky to see the car get to half throttle before spinning out. My shocks were all the way up (collars raised) when the stealth lost the diff gear and the collars arevdown (lowered) with the 6 gear. I know the 6 gear needs a new washer for the diff but the diff still works occasionally. Otherwise I do have thick aluminum bulkhead on each end to replace my broken fiber ones. I've run the car on grass, dirt, loose dirt, ay, and pavement with appropriate tires and it still always spins out.

damn dave, i really don't know what to tell you without having the car in front of me.
plus i haven't touched a 6 gear since 88ish, i ran mip's until the stealth came out.
maybe one of the other guys has some input.

i'd start a thread in the buggy forum about the goldie. if thats whats bothering you a properly put together t4.1 will suit your needs but that goldie should be running much better.

I've had a couple of threads around here filled with my cars issues but they seem to be some hard ones to fix. I'll try repairing the diff and giving urban new washer and Ill play with the shocks and weight distribution and see how that goes.
