New to RC10T4 world....a few questions...

Post by ElPedro »

Howdy all!
I'm in the process of putting together my first Factory Team T4. I got sick of the nitro world, so I am going completely electric. I've got a Velociti 7.5 with a 4800mah Orion battery coming tomorrow and I have a few set-up questions for you all. I'm really new to this, so bear with me. What different pinions should I keep around? What changes from the Factory Team kit are needed if any? Any other tips would be much appreciated.

The Novak instruction sheet will let you know what size pinion to run with that setup. It should at least. I have a 5.5 in my FT-T4 and the Novak instructions had that info. Isn't the 7.5 more for on road cars? I can't remember.

As far as other stuff. I'd pick up a few extra pairs of arms, especially fronts. It's not that the T4 is a weak machine, it's just that when it has that much power it will travel extremely fast. I already destroyed half my front end by hitting a chunk of concrete at full speed. I've also broken an axle doing cart wheels after a jump in the street. Tower has had them on backorder for like 3 weeks now.

So, I guess my only real advise is to take it easy at first. It's tempting to put the pedal to the metal, but it doesn't take much to really mess up a car with that much hp.
