Re: kyosho - SandMaster
I've had my eye on these for a while now. I really like the proportions of it, tall and narrow, and actually looking like a dune buggy and not an X-wing fighter with wheels. I like Kyosho's older entry-level buggies, and if this is similarly "low quality," it will be tough as nails, all bendy plastic, and weigh next to nothing. If the kit version comes in at under $100 street price, I'll probably end up with one, just to mess around with.

A LHS had it on display and I gotta say please see it before you order or you might be disappointed.

This looks amazingly cheap, especially for Kyosho. I'd stick with an Ultima DB (I know different animal, but still).

Re: kyosho - SandMaster
It bothers me because we already had a kyosho sand master and this is not a descent. Makes it hard to look up!

I think it looks really cool, but because I'm old I'd rather get a re-re Wild One...

The shocks are of the quality you get on a toy car: the car just springs back when you compress and let go; no damping at all and too hard springs.
Sizewise it's a lot smaller than the DB (I know you can tell from the dimensions, but I was still quite surprised.
OTherwise I guess the shiny non-reinforced plastic didn't help

Re: kyosho - SandMaster
So, how about it? Anybody got one, drove one, or saw one in the flesh?
How about you give us a second opinion?

Re: kyosho - SandMaster
A Main Hobbies has the buggies in stock and replacement parts are rolling in. From what I can tell the quality is on the cheaper side, as one would expect, but the buggy looks like a good starter/budget vehicle. The plastics used are very flexible; I took an a-arm and was able to bend it quite a bit without it breaking. I enjoy the realism from the buggy, think I might get the red one.
