it's really hard to help you from behind a computer screen is what I think scr8p meant... the beauty of toying around with vintage electronics is the troubleshooting! Sometimes they don't work because of the way the setup is done, and to be frank before 1-touch setup (weren't novak the 1st ones?) it can be a bit of a pain to setup properly with all the pots and mate the settings to the radio - then again we've all become a bit too "plug-and-play". Sometimes they don't work because one of the protections (tekin fuse, for instance) did its job and burnt. Sometimes they actually work but the receiver doesn't, or there's some kind of weird radio conflict. Sometimes they don't work because they're simply toast
Donwload the instructions when they're still available, and try again methodically with the instructions and a cold beer in front of you, remember that we could make them work when we were 13 y.o.

and no forum replaces trial-and-error ... chances are you'll find out soon whether it's just you who didn't try hard enough so far... of if they're burnt for real!
