i won this on ebay last week. does anyone know around what year this model came out? mainly, i'm just wondering if it's old enough to put in my 6010 queen.

Nice score. I was looking at that, too. I had one originally, when they came out after Kevin Orton started Tekin out of the Delta fires. That would have been 1984-1986 or so. Perfect vintage for that early RC10.
Odd that there are motor plugs on both ends of the controller. We all used those nasty Tamiya plugs on batteries then. Looks like it may have been rewired at some point, too, as there is no black battery wire that I can see.

thanks for the info. i also thought it was odd that both plugs were the same. i was also stumped on the wires. it looked like there was 2 red and 2 blue. but the more i looked at them, the neg. battery wire is actually a blushish gray. it made it very hard to distinguish between that, and the blue neg. motor wire. i thought it may have been re-wired too, but i took the case apart, and it looks virgin. all of the wires say delta on them, too.
it was definately a nice catch. the thing is mint. it's hard to believe it was ever in a car. (according to the seller it was in an rc10) not even one scratch on the case, and all of the wires are perfect.
just need to change the battery plug.

Nice indeed! I have a few old like new Novaks (all with red/black/blue/orange wires). Your color coding/plugs bring back the memory of my mishap with my only futaba esc. You might have a problem if things get hot in a hurry LOL. Yeah, that esc still works overtime!scr8p wrote:thanks for the info. i also thought it was odd that both plugs were the same. i was also stumped on the wires. it looked like there was 2 red and 2 blue. but the more i looked at them, the neg. battery wire is actually a blushish gray. it made it very hard to distinguish between that, and the blue neg. motor wire. i thought it may have been re-wired too, but i took the case apart, and it looks virgin. all of the wires say delta on them, too.

I tried to get some answers from Tekin a while back about old escs and chargers with no luck (no response). Thanks Tekin, I have no future plan to give you my money.
