I surrender
I acccidentally deleted my avatar and now trying to replace it, but cant get the requirements (130 x 400 size 8kb) without suffering the quality of the image.
Why other can make their avatar big and pressantable, mine so tiny and you can hardly see the image.
here is my avatar

i can not resize, any input to make the size smaller will be appreciated.
The easiest way to get into the parameters are to crop the image as much as possible and resize it to the requirements of the site. From there you need to "export" the image, which will strip off all the meta-data and turn your 20k image into a 3k to 5k image, well within the constraints needed.

You're not exporting it anywhere, at least not with Adobe Fireworks, which is what I use for such things. You can change the name and location of the file if you want to, but I never do. My edits of an image get different names from my final image, which is then exported into the same folder with the same name.

I use windows paint that is on all pc's.
Just right click any your avatar, choose open with then paint.
Now you will see the pic in its actual size.
O.K. now drop down the image menu and choose resize.
The two boxes that say 100 can be changed to 50 to cut it in half 25 for 1/4 etc.
If that isnt right click undo and it will go back to 100.
keep trying different numbers until you get the size you want.

We're talking about file size not physical dimensions.
I cannot get my Avatar to upload. It meets the file size requested. Does it only work if you have been on here ages?

I have a link on my desktop, but I'm outside right now. There is a handy conversion site(not sure if this is it, but something like it.). May help if the file type is the cause.
Is there a setting on my camera that I have to work on?
I can't seem to get anything to work...

max avatar size is 130 (width) x 400 (height). so, you'll need to resize your pic to fit into those parameters. also, the file size can be no larger than 8kb... or something like that.
I'm a big mini bike collector. Check out sometime. That is where we gather.
If you want to see ultra rare, this is a pic of my 1961 Go Kart Manufacturing Go Kart Cycle Green Enduro. I purchased it from the original owner. She's now on...
