Resizing my Avatar
I surrender
I acccidentally deleted my avatar and now trying to replace it, but cant get the requirements (130 x 400 size 8kb) without suffering the quality of the image.
Why other can make their avatar big and pressantable, mine so tiny and you can hardly see the image.
here is my avatar i can not resize, any input to make the size smaller will be appreciated.
and here is the result when i tried to resize it

7.94k
I used Gimp to crop it a little and then save it as jpg with more compression.

Re: Resizing my Avatar
The easiest way to get into the parameters are to crop the image as much as possible and resize it to the requirements of the site. From there you need to "export" the image, which will strip off all the meta-data and turn your 20k image into a 3k to 5k image, well within the constraints needed.

I'mma gonna tell ya anyway!farmer wrote:NV/M thx
You're not exporting it anywhere, at least not with Adobe Fireworks, which is what I use for such things. You can change the name and location of the file if you want to, but I never do. My edits of an image get different names from my final image, which is then exported into the same folder with the same name.

Lowgear is pretty handy with computer and internet stuff. He's helped me out quite a bit.

I use windows paint that is on all pc's.
Just right click any your avatar, choose open with then paint.
Now you will see the pic in its actual size.
O.K. now drop down the image menu and choose resize.
The two boxes that say 100 can be changed to 50 to cut it in half 25 for 1/4 etc.
If that isnt right click undo and it will go back to 100.
keep trying different numbers until you get the size you want.
