Introduction by way of a late model RC10 build

While on the lookout for Losi Rally Weapon shocks I came across some GPM bellcranks on eBay that looked like they might work for keeping the servo rotated forward, and because they were so cheap I decided to take a shot. They arrived today and though they're not a perfect match they seem to be close enough to the right size.

The inside screw hole, where the center link is mounted, is only about a quarter of a screw width off compared to the old stock RC10 servo saver, but as you can see the outside hole is off by a bit more. I'm assuming that will probably changes the ackermann.

When mounted up there's really only one area that interferes with the bell cranks swinging...but it's a specific problem to this build. It's a glaringly obvious problem that I was slow enough to catch only after mounting the bell cranks. The rear arm on the left belll crank can hit the battery strap when turning left. Not a good thing for an oval car.

Try a longer screw up through the chassis with a nut on it to raise the bellcrank some.DON

Are you suggesting raising the bell cranks to clear the strap or for some other reason?

The arm on the bell crank is high enough to clear the aluminum brace for the battery strap...it's the battery strap itself that's getting in the way. Raising the bell cranks won't solve that problem. Truth is it's likely not that serious an issue since I can probably just do without the aluminum brace and just run the strap through the battery slots in the chassis.

Longer screws are on the list of items I need to get but that's just so I have more threads for the nuts.

Ebay was very good to me last week.

First of my new project cars cam today and I'm definitely more than happy with the deal I got. "Houge" chassis roller with a spare A&L chassis and a few not advertised surprises. The auction wasn't very descriptive and didn't have a clear shot of the transmission but I saw a bit of black behind the shock tower and guessed right: MIP SP-1.

Also guessed right on the front arm mount color looking a bit off to be black nylon pieces....they are aluminum....as are the steering knuckles but I didn't pick up on that one. I think they're old WSS parts.

Pleasent surprises didn't stop there though as the SP-1 came with a Torq control hub and the Tecnacraft wing is using old diamond shape wing buttons.

Those are RPS Losi bellcranks for the RC10

Yup. Losi tires/wheels too. Has Kyosho Golds, Tecnacraft turnbuckles up front, and 3/4 of a set of white Andy's arms. What I don't know is who made the front shock tower...it's shaped like an early RC10 tower but it's thicker fiberglass, it's missing the .56 shock mounting hole, and it's a darker green/aqua color. The rear I'm thinking is the A&L tower that goes with the other chassis...by the wear in the mounting holes I'm guessing this was once set up as a trailing arm chassis.

My plans are to rebuild it as one.
