The frankenbuggy build of mine uses a T2 rear shock tower. The old fiberglass one on there is somehow warped so the ends are forward 1/8-3/16 inch. I can get either a black glass one or a graphite one for the same price. Which one would be better to go with. I really dont see flex being an issue. The one on there now is plenty stiff. Durability is the main thing. This is a full on racer and with with spares not readily available I need it to last. Thanks guys.
Well I still crash more than I would like. As for cost both are around $10.50 give or take a buck so thats not really an issue. I was under the impression that the fiberglass ones were more durable(flexable). However I have no experience with carbon towers thats why I asked.
the fiberglass towers are cheaper and easier to find. and they are more flexable. keep practing til you got a handle on your buggy. then if you feel that you're doing good, without any damage to your buggy, move over to the carbon units. you'll save yourself some money in the long run. when you do you'll also notice a slight difference in a stiffer tower.
nonetheless i still run them (stock fiberglass) on my rc10t truck. because they're beefy thick. but then again, they aren't exposed like on your buggy. i got a body between the carnage and the towers.
However its not the first one on here. scr8p has a prettier one and I have stumbled across a few others at times. Its going through a few upgrades before the novak race next month. The 10.5 is coming out and a 17.5 is in. With a shorty pack and a few other tweaks it comes in around 1530 which is not bad at all for a full metal chassis and overbuilt bulkheads.
