Another RC10T fan
Another RC10T fan
Hey All
I just found the board when I dug out my old RC10t's that I've had since my old racing days. I was pretty serious back in the early 90's in Canada, I went to the Nationals and regional Roar races mostly in stock classes. It was getting pretty pricey trying to keep up with factory drivers so I pretty much packed it in and played around with a Revo and a T-Maxx but a few years ago i got back into racing with nitro and FE boats. It's a whole other ballgame but I'm hooked.
Anyway that's my story I have 2 Team trucks and all my racing gear I've managed to hang-on to over the years so I'm putting a brushless system in one to take advantage of the all the lipo packs i have from boat racing.
The truck I'm using was full race in '94 and I'd like to keep the hydra-drive on it if I can find some fluid - talk about unobtainium. If not I'll probably put the B4 slipper on it.
Thanks for all the great info!

Very cool, welcome to the forum! For your Hydradrive, I think you can use 1000 to 10000 silicone diff oil!
Where you at in Canada?

Re: Another RC10T fan
Hey thanks Rod, I fixed up my location maybe it was you I asked about fluid at PM
I ended up finding a new hydra-drive and a rebuild kit both with fluid at ML. There was a dusty old HPI Dodge 10T body that I grabbed too.
I'm just waiting on my electrics that seem to be stuck at the border. I haven't run the truck since the old MORRAC days but I might have to check out the indoor track.

Well I got the tranny, hydra-drive and the shocks rebuilt, installed the Xerun system and got it all programed on the PC. That part is pretty cool it sure beats counting beeps. Of course the day I finished it snowed but I have to get after painting the body.

Re: Another RC10T fan
vintage-tman, The Hydradrive may not get rid of your problems. First check your diff that it is not slipping, by wedging two flat screwdrivers in the outdrives and then try to turn the diff gear with a good bit of force! If it turns, you need to adjust it just to the point where it does not turn! After that check and make sure the slipper pads, bushings etc are all assembled properly. Tighten your slipper all the way. Your car should roost or wheely with no slipping. Then back off your slipper so you can hear it slipping/whining for about one foot from a dead stop! This will get you in the ball park for adjustments! Hope this helps!
