No, you are correct, the toe-in was moved inboard rather than being in the hubs. It also came with 25 degree caster blocks up front, 5 spoke wheels and a new body (which most people hated I think).Charlie don't surf wrote: The CR ( I think ) was really only different because of where the rear toe in angle was placed ( ie rear hubs vs rear arm mounts and hubs ) but I might be wrong

Re: Ok so lets talk about the Losi XX cars ??
The XX was my first Losi, but 5th 2wd buggy - but it remains my favourite car of all time. After the previous racers, the XX was a revelation - it was just so easy to drive, handled the bumps beautifully yet with provocation could be very agile.... all without deviating too far from the kit set-up. This car served me well throughout the mid 90s until I became sponsored by Schumacher. I returned back to Losi with an original XXX, yet was dissapointed that this car seemed have lost the 'edge' compared to the XX - it just didn't seem as nimble as i'd remembered the older car being, although the XXX kept the XX's forgiving nature.
To this day i'm running a XXX based mid-motored car... but with, incidentally with the original XXX rear end set-up - wishbones, hubs & pivot block - all of which were parts carried over from the XXCR when the XXX first came out - I'm still competitive with this XXXCR2 (which many at my regular club are favouring over the new 22) So I have no doubts that a XX could still be as equally competitve...... for that reason I think any 'vintage' meeting should be run to pre-93 rules to eliminate the XX as its just too good!
Talking of Boxes - I currently own a NIB XX - I brought it from the US but unfortunately is a Sport 'bushes'/no Hydra-Drive kit - notice how the background behind the car is blue compared to the black background on the 'Pro' kit box shown on the first page.

Hey anybody can build em straight from the box
Me I like to scour the interent for hours on end, spending 4x as much as it would have if you just bought that NIB one you seen for sale. But hey thats just me
Very good point about the box colours being different I had never noticed that before.

Re: Ok so lets talk about the Losi XX cars ??
Its funny you should say that... when I brought my kit I didn't realise 'Sport' versions of the Losi buggies existed... my intention with this car was to build it up like the car that I used to race BITD.... unfortunately this mean't collecting & finding essentials like a full genuine ball-race set, Excellorator bodyshell, Carbon front tower, machined motor mount, Trinity braces etc etc - the list goes on, so yes once built - it could be the worlds most expensive XXslapshot1979 wrote:Hey anybody can build em straight from the box![]()
