Funny with the schuie slipper is that the it has the right bearing to fit the associated type of spur but the screw holes are alaigned in metricIf I dont have it all wrong there is an optional plate to make things right.
Othewise there is an plate that you use instead LA-118 i use that it make things just easier can be a bit hard to find but its possible there is also another plate that can be used but i dont have the right part number for that i´ll will have to check and see.

Should have kept it stock standard then Mark. Buying up cool vintage nip stuff is bound to cost you a pretty penny. It's really starting to annoy me too. Feel like giving up. This Lazer owes me a lot now and still spending on it.
At the end of the day you can still build the car and add a spur at any point down the track. Easy.

I just checked, and spurs made by HPI and Kawada should also fit on the original spur holder without problems...
Such spurs can be found on Ebay.

Jason it's not that simple. My Lazer didn't come with the standard set up. I bought the Hyper slipper only because you told that it takes Kimbrough spurs. !!!!!!!!!!!!!bormac wrote:Should have kept it stock standard then Mark. As Iso said you can get spurs from RW racing or a 98 kimbro spur for the hyper clutch. you need a layshaft to use the hyper clutch plates.
However i have sent an original spur 48dp to rw racing in the uk for a proto to be made for me to test. He cant make the lumps for the slipper pads but should be perfect for the hyper clutch and original zx slipper which is what im going to be using as i feel it will handle the brushless power much better and you will have no burn outs. The holes will be perfect as well.

As I wrote earlier HPI and KAwada spurs should also fit fine. The inner circle of diff ball holes lines up perfectly with the screws of the Hyper clutch.
It might be that any Japanese-made spur that isn't Tamiya fits perfectly.

Yes but if you want to use the ZX slipper system these spurs are of no use. The RW ones that will be available soon will be capable of being used on both the Hyper clutch and the ZX Slipper and the spur gear is 100T in 48dp. I cannot wait for the proto to arrive for a thorough testing.

I'm not sure I understand you. Did Kyosho use different spurs than their usual ones (like on the Optima MID and Tour Force cars) on the ZX slipper?Kyosho Fan2 wrote:EvolutionRevolution wrote:As I wrote earlier HPI and KAwada spurs should also fit fine. Yes, basically. The spur gear on the ZXR, ZXRR had 100T (48dp) spurs and the ZX had .6 but the same diameter.
You can only buy 98 spurs from other manufacturers with exception of RW racing who do a spur that is 100t but is for the hyper clutch and doesnt fit the ZX slipper system.
I have sent an original ZXR spur to RW racing and a proto type is being made for me to test. when I am happy with it then it will be sold. The 12 holes on the spur (surrounding the central hole are basically for extra large diff balls on the ZX as the slipper is basically a third diff and can be built to either have a 60/40 or 50/50 drive train so is a bit more adaptable than the standard drive train such as the hyper clutch. It also means if set correctly that you will not burn out the slipper clutch like the hyper clutch as there are no pads to wear out and the diff balls will last for quite some time if maintained correctly, before they will need the plates and balls to be replaced.
I have fitted the ZX slipper system into my ZXR and will be throughly testing with an x12 5.0, and if this works will also be adding to my ZX-S. I think this is the way forward.
