I did that on one or two cars back in the day, it just made things easier.

Wrong forum but the one car I needed to do it on was my RC500 gas on road car. I was in Las Vegas for the 1st Paris Memorial race and in final warmup for the Main had my servo saver loosen up. The servo was mounted facing down and the only way to get at it was to take half the !@#$ car apart.

Boy was I mad at having spent 3 days in practise and qualifying only to miss my Main! As soon as I got home driled an access hole in the botom of the chassis but never again actually had to use it.

I did drill the hole in the side of a chassis or two. I drilled some holes in a chassis before to lighten it but they were a little more tasteful than the Swiss cheese on the previous page.

Never did the lazy hole but did do the cheese grater. Just picked up my first car last week that had the notch cut out for the battery. and two square switch mount holes. I'll probably cut the sides down and make it one of my runners.

Never done it myself but have two chassis that have it. It does come in handy if u double sided tape your servo down and have horn or saver issues.
