Will a Ultima upper fiberglass tray fit a Ultima Pro ???

Post by clhuke64 »

I just picked up a Ultima Pro at the local junk store, in a box with a radio shack monster truck for $20.00. All the Pro is going to need is the upper fiberglass tray and a body. Dave (DW911) has this upper tray for sale and I was wondering if any one (WITH A WHOLE LOT MORE KNOWALGE THAN ME) could tell me if the will interchange ????

Thanks
Craig

Difficult question since there are different versions of the pro, depending on the time and region it was sold in.

One thing is sure: the holes for the chassis spacers will not line up.

the pro's flat brown anodised alu chassis has the same wheelbase as a stadard or turbo ultima. But apparently that chassis was not the noe included with the pro for thUS market? Still I think the wheelbase is only different for the kelron and ultima-pro xl. On the other hand: as I noted in my post above even if the wheelbase is the same the position of the standoffs is not the same as the mounting holes for the standard chassis... so usable with light modification of the chassis or topdeck
