AE chassis ID question

Post by shane »

Hi guys,
I found two identical AE chassis in a clearance box at my lhs. They were in poor packaging and had no header cards. I asked the clerk what vehicle they were for, he said,"B2". I couldn't tell if he was asking me or telling me. So I got them.
I came home and tried to find info on the new AE website. If I'm correct, the B2, B3, and T3 share the same chassis ( or, at least, look like they do ), the only difference being the length.
Well, these chassis are approx. 9 1/8" long. Can anyone tell me to what AE vehicle(s) they are for?
Thanks for any help.

The B2 and B3 used the same chassis, while the T3 had a chassis with a longer wheelbase. The You can tell by the battery box, which will be much longer in the T3.

There's heaps of versions of that chassis, just from the B2 buggy without any trucks you have

9199 - B2 Chassis Standard, moulded carbon fiber composite (these are the hard option parts)
9200 - B2 Chassis Standard, moulded composite
9201 - B2 Chassis Short, moulded composite
9202 - B2 Chassis Short, moulded carbon fiber composite

So I would say there's probably 6 versions of it all up, assuming there were no new ones with the B3

I have both manuals here, they list 9200 as standard, with the carbon options, and the short wheelbase options in the B2 manual.

I forgot about the short wheelbase option; I remembered there was a different chassis somewhere along the way, but I wasn't sure if it was a case of a new version replacing the old one and having the same part number (the RC10T4/SC10 front shock tower is such a case; they added a hole for the SC10 body mount and just kept the same part number as on the T4).

Can you tell me how long the standard chassis is for the B2?

About yay big, near as I can figure, give or take a little....

I don't think the shorter chassis is drastically shorter, it's only like .200-.250 inches, so it might be hard to tell.
