Re: Value of NIB RC10?
When did Associated start putting numbers on the bags? Theres a NIB kit on the Bay right now with no numbers on the bags either.
Remember it's either a runner or a shelfer. Everything else is just parts.

Re: Value of NIB RC10?
Yeah, I saw that one too. The seller indicated theirs is a 6010 and mine a 6016. Both our boxes have the "made in America" sticker, but those are on all the boxes I recall seeing.
Beyond the chassis stamp, I'm not sure how to differentiate the production date.

Re: Value of NIB RC10?
The "answer" is...a NIB #6010 is valued at approximately $600, on this particular day, to a particular buyer. I don't think it's a horrible thing to make these things public knowledge, with the obvious knowledge that prices can and will vary. I do apologize for not fully reading the forum rules and asking the initial question, however.

Re: Value of NIB RC10?
I would think the 6016 would be more rare and worth more considering it comes with the $80.00 bearing kit.
Re: Value of NIB RC10?
I can't speak to the relative rarity of the 6016, but I was slightly shocked when I saw they had the $80 retail price on the bearing bag. $80 back in the 80's was a good chunk of change.
I remember an Optima Mid bearing set running me $30 or $40, which was a lot of money for a kid back in the late 80s.

Re: Value of NIB RC10?
I was just looking through one of my 1989 RC Car Action mags and I was shocked at what bearings cost then. But as I thought about it more I remember it being a pretty big deal having my dad and I go get a bearing set for one of my cars.

Re: Value of NIB RC10?
we were just speaking of the price of bearings back in the day today at our vintage meet. i remember a hotshot bearing set was like 120.00 aus dollars. 22 bearings from memory and mind blowing for a teenages pocket.
